Sardinian warbler (Sylvia melanocephala)

This bird sports a black head and bright red eye-ring. It lives in dense scrub and it is often difficult to see it, although it usually gives out a characteristic rattling alarm call if we get too close (teck-teck-teck). It is commonest in the hills around Cáceres.
